The Agricultural Academy is an organization for scientific research, applied service and subsidiary activities in the field of agriculture, animal husbandry and food industry to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The organizational structure of the Agricultural Academy consists of headquarter and 25 research institutes, 21 of which, are accredited by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency, at the Council of Ministers, to provide educational programs for the award of the title “Doctor” in 34 disciplines. The research institutes of Agricultural Academy maintain an active cooperation with partners from 40 countries for the implementation of joint research projects. The Centre for professional education at the Agricultural Academy is accredited by the National Professional Education and Training Agency at the Council of Ministers to provide educational and training programmes for 24 professions and 50 specialties up to secondary and tertiary degree of qualification. In the field of food technology the accredited specialties are eight. Five of them Storage and processing of grain and feed production code 5410201;Production of meat, meat products and fish, code 5410203; Production of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, code 5410205;Production of sugar and sugar products, code 5410206 and Production of plant oils, soaps and essential oils, code 5410208 are for secondary degree of professional qualification. The other three of them Production and processing of milk and dairy products, code 5410103; Production of canned foods, code 5410105; and Production of tobacco and tobacco products, code 5410108 are for tertiary degree of professional qualification.
